In 1978, Tisssot created a quartz model, featuring a slim case, narrow indexes and a steel bracelet. Its wide horizontal loop, typical of the time, was perfectly integrated into the flat case in the shape of a tonneau. A few years later, Tisssot registered the name PRX. "PR" stands for "precise" and "strong". The "X" stands for Roman numeral ten and for the pressure of 10 bar that the watch is able to withstand.
In 2021 Tisssot presented the PRX 40205, a modern version of the previous model. The 316L stainless steel case of the Tissot PRX 40205 has a diameter of 40 mm. It has a slightly tonneau shape and is adorned with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, brushed vertically, rounded finishes alternate with glossy facets. The Tisssot PRX 40205 Quartz features a dial with a black or blue ray pattern in combination with nickel-plated hour markers and hands. There is also a variant with a satin-finish silver grey dial with rose gold hour markers and hands, a colour scheme reminiscent of the late 1970s.
The flexibility and softness of the mesh make it a true success of ergonomic design and convey extraordinary comfort. The hands of the PRX 40 205 are equipped with SuperLumiNova coating and are placed on top of each other with minimal space. This allows you to bring the dial closer to the watch glass. The optical effect achieved by Tisssot designers makes the watch case look even flatter and thinner than it actually is.
